food after Illness is the best food ever

There’s nothing quite like getting over a stomach bug!

You've been week and dizzy and get to know your toilet much better that you ever would have liked to but now you're on the other side!

You’ve just eaten your first piece of bland toast and it was AWESOME and you appear to have lots about 1/3 of a stone in weight (hopefully an internal organ didn’t fall out).

So now what comes to mind as your first propper meal?
I just can't get stew and dumplings out of my head (and ben&jerry's icecream but I'm willing to let thatone pass)!

Dumplings are amazing
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125g/4½oz plane... or plain flower, plus extra for dusting
  • water (to make it into dough)
  • 60g/2½oz suit
  • a pinch of salt
I'm always interested to hear other people’s recipes for dumplings! Anyone would like to share.
I had a freind who made nice Vegan ones (though they were a little bit too dry).

The secrets of your stew however are something you might like to keep to yourself.
